York Rally

View online version Click here to edit

Its been sixteen years since we first went to the York Rally. Founded in 1945 it was held on Yorks Knavesmire racecourse for 68 years until its eventual demise in 2012.

Although it was run by a branch of the CTC, the national body never really supported it or reported on it.

The Rally is back on the 20th and 21st June, but now run by an enthusiastic team of volunteers, united in the belief that there is still a demand for a great meeting of cyclists from all over the country, in a lovely city, surrounded by great cycling countryside.

Among the attractions promised...

  • Grasstrack racing
  • Cyclocross
  • Pedal Power Invention Convention
  • Trade Village
  • Rides of all distances, from family friendly beginners to Audaxes for seasoned riders.
  • A Tweed Ride for vintage/classic enthusiasts.
  • Camping on the racecourse
  • Live music in the evening
  • Saddlebag jumble
  • Auction of bike parts
We will be there, offering test rides on all our bikes, trikes, recumbents and freight bikes, and hopefully also participating in some of the events ourselves.

It would be great if you could support this event and help bring the York Rally back as one of the highlights of the cycling calendar. All the details are here
